I have read some pretty weird manga before, but one in particular was not only weird, but enjoyable! Yuri Mekuru Hibi is an ongoing manga by Reona Mizuki. This is surely one of the silliest, yet weirdest yuri manga’s I have ever encounter .

Radiant Vol. 1 Breakdown … A Remarkable Read!

radiant

“The world is overrun with monsters called Nemesis, and a young boy infected by them will stop at nothing to defeat them all!” – Radiant. Purchasing this manga was probably one of the best things I have ever did in a long time. Radiant by Tony Valente has recently been published by Viz Media. Currently Radiant has one volume out in english, with a total of 184 magical pages to read.  Radiant just may be the next big shōnen manga to arrive. Definitely with it anime airing this fall in October. I think we have a lot to look forward to. In this breakdown I will talk about the following, the plot, the characters, the art, and give my overall thoughts. Please be warned this breakdown may contain spoilers. I suggest reading the manga on Mangakakalot first before proceeding. Continue reading

Magical Girl Spec Ops Asuka VS Puella Magi Madoka Magica … Who Did It Better?

Who did the dark theme magical girl better? Magical Girl Spec Ops Asuka, or Puella Magi Madoka Magica?  What makes one more appealing than the other, and why is it more appealing. These are the question that have been running around my head for the past couple of hours.  Both magical girls manga is very well done. They both have different attributes about the manga that make them appealing, but one does dominate the other. I believe Magical Girl Spec Ops Asuka does it better, and is far more appealing. Day 9: 30 Day Anime & Manga Challenge – A Manga With A Lot Of Gore!

Anime can be pretty gory at times however, they tend to tone it down due to Japanese broadcasting.  This is what makes manga so great! For the most part you can find manga that is filled with over the top gore. For example, Berserk is far more gory in the manga series than the anime itself. Other great examples to compare are Hellsing, and Blood C (awesome anime, and manga).  You get a lot of gore in the anime series, but you get even more gory scenes in the manga. If you have the stomach I would suggest to check out the manga’s of these series I listed above. You won’t regret it!

With only a few days of September left my favorite month of the year is finally about to arrive. Meaning new manga will be hitting the shelves! Day 8: 30 Day Anime & Manga Challenge … Your Very First Manga You Read

Honestly guys I can’t really remember the very first manga I read, because it has been years since I started reading manga, but I want to say it was “Princess Resurrection”or “Kaibutsu Oujo”.  Man does this manga bring back memories. 12 year old me thought this was the greatest manga to ever exist. I mean what kid wouldn’t think a manga filled with werewolves, demons, monsters, vampires, and a bad ass princess isn’t cool! Princess Resurrection by Yasunori Mitsunaga is also known for other great manga series like, Kako to Nise Tantei,  Tama Kick, and many more.

Princess Resurrection has a total of 20 volumes, and began publication June 25th, 2005 through February 26 2013. No I have not read all 20 volumes, and to be honest I couldn’t tell you what volume number I was on. If I was to do a review on this series I would need to re-read the series to be frank. However, I will pull something out of my ass, and make this an awesome blog post.
