What’s up guys! Thanks coming back to check out another blog post done by the one only Luna Senpai. In this blog post I am going to do manga break down on Magical Girl spec Ops Asuka volume 1. I will be talking about the following topic, the plot, the characters, the artwork, and of course give my overall thoughts on volume 1. Please note there are currently four volumes translated in English available for purchases. You can also read some of the chapter for free HERE .
WARNING SPOILER ALERT!
Just to give you guys a heads up this breakdown will contain some spoilers. Meaning if you are not a fan of spoilers you may not want to read this until you have read volume 1 of Magical Girl Spec Ops Asuka. I will also be sure to source out any information I did not write for plagiarism is not cool!
Anime can be pretty gory at times however, they tend to tone it down due to Japanese broadcasting. This is what makes manga so great! For the most part you can find manga that is filled with over the top gore. For example, Berserk is far more gory in the manga series than the anime itself. Other great examples to compare are Hellsing, and Blood C (awesome anime, and manga). You get a lot of gore in the anime series, but you get even more gory scenes in the manga. If you have the stomach I would suggest to check out the manga’s of these series I listed above. You won’t regret it!
Honestly guys I can’t really remember the very first manga I read, because it has been years since I started reading manga, but I want to say it was “Princess Resurrection”or “Kaibutsu Oujo”. Man does this manga bring back memories. 12 year old me thought this was the greatest manga to ever exist. I mean what kid wouldn’t think a manga filled with werewolves, demons, monsters, vampires, and a bad ass princess isn’t cool! Princess Resurrection by Yasunori Mitsunaga is also known for other great manga series like, Kako to Nise Tantei, Tama Kick, and many more.
Princess Resurrection has a total of 20 volumes, and began publication June 25th, 2005 through February 26 2013. No I have not read all 20 volumes, and to be honest I couldn’t tell you what volume number I was on. If I was to do a review on this series I would need to re-read the series to be frank. However, I will pull something out of my ass, and make this an awesome blog post.
I have been meaning to talk about Magical Girl Spec Ops Asuka for a while now. Currently with four English manga volumes out ( Just purchased the fourth volume on amazon) Magical Girl Spec Ops Asuka is a brilliantly written manga by Makoto Fukami, and illustrated by Seigo Tokiya. Guys 2019 needs to hurry its ass up, because this manga is getting an anime adaptation that I am thoroughly excited about. I have a huge weakness for magical girl anything! Some people like idols, but I love magical girls.
I really try not to hate on anime’s to much, because I feel like each anime can be enjoyable in it’s own way. Though you may not like certain aspects of the anime, there are aspects of it you may find that you enjoy. However, it is impossible to like every anime you watch. I have never met a single person who doesn’t have a few anime’s they just can’t stand. I am going to make Black Clover by Yuki Tabata my example since I already talk about my dislike for Asta in my previous post called, “Day 6: 30 Day Anime & Manga Challenge … Least Favorite Anime Character?“
