Hey guys sorry for delay! Work was really tiring yesterday … I literally had no energy or motivation to do anything. Though I fell off a day I am ready to get back on track! You know I have been thinking about this question since last night. I have a few manga’s that have really blew me away. Enough that I have re-read the series, but I don’t know which one I want to talk about! That is a problem my friend! So decided to choose three that I think might interest you guys as well! Anime can be pretty gory at times however, they tend to tone it down due to Japanese broadcasting. This is what makes manga so great! For the most part you can find manga that is filled with over the top gore. For example, Berserk is far more gory in the manga series than the anime itself. Other great examples to compare are Hellsing, and Blood C (awesome anime, and manga). You get a lot of gore in the anime series, but you get even more gory scenes in the manga. If you have the stomach I would suggest to check out the manga’s of these series I listed above. You won’t regret it!
Honestly guys I can’t really remember the very first manga I read, because it has been years since I started reading manga, but I want to say it was “Princess Resurrection”or “Kaibutsu Oujo”. Man does this manga bring back memories. 12 year old me thought this was the greatest manga to ever exist. I mean what kid wouldn’t think a manga filled with werewolves, demons, monsters, vampires, and a bad ass princess isn’t cool! Princess Resurrection by Yasunori Mitsunaga is also known for other great manga series like, Kako to Nise Tantei, Tama Kick, and many more.
Princess Resurrection has a total of 20 volumes, and began publication June 25th, 2005 through February 26 2013. No I have not read all 20 volumes, and to be honest I couldn’t tell you what volume number I was on. If I was to do a review on this series I would need to re-read the series to be frank. However, I will pull something out of my ass, and make this an awesome blog post.
As I sit, and jam out to some heavy metal I thought to myself … What do I prefer more of? Anime or Manga? In this oh so lovely blog post I am going to talk about why I prefer both anime, and manga. This is due to me being indecisive, and not being able to pick one … so why not pick both! Both offer such variety it is hard not to fall in love with both anime, and manga. Ever since I discover anime, and manga my life has changed for the better. Struggling with ADHD, anxiety, and depression, I needed something to help get me back up onto my feet at times. Anime, and manga were the magic I needed in my life.
As a kid I always had a fascination with comics. It wasn’t until I was a about 12 years old when I discovered manga … I remember thinking to myself how interesting, and different. Manga immediately capture my eyes due to how different it was from the standard American comic book. 12 year old me thought wow how cool you read this book starting from the back. I remember what grab my attention the most about manga was how visual they are compared to comics, and not as many words. Someone with ADHD this is a plus … since my focus is like a fly. I felt like a whole new world had open up to me that day in the book store.
Hey guys, just want to give my current readers, and new readers a heads up. From this point on this blog post will contain spoilers. If you are not a fan of spoilers I suggest checking out the manga’s first … I did link them if you would like to purchase them. As always I will be sure to source anything that didn’t come from my mouth for plagiarism is whack like crack.
