If my header doesn’t grab your attention … then I have failed! With summer anime’s starting to come to an end, it is time to discuss my personal favorite summer anime’s, and anime’s that I will binge watch. I am the kind of anime watcher who usually waits for the season to be done, and then watches it … usually in a day or two if I don’t have to adult. Before I proceed with this blog make sure to check out my blog post, “One Punch Man vs Superman” I would love to hear your guys thoughts!

Hell yeah these anime’s kicked some summer ass dudes!

My thoughts: Before I go into how awesomely weird this anime is … you guys should know this is a sequel anime series to FLCL. When I first heard about FLCL Progressive I was thrilled. I loved the first FLCL, so I was excited to see what kind of greatness the sequel would bring. My friends it did not fail at all! The animation was creative, imaginative, and overall weird in a weirdly good way.

If you are looking for an anime with different perspective , and a odd plot FLCL Progressive is the anime to watch. The anime is wild, and all over the place, but for some damn reason you can’t help but keep watching it!

Asobi Asobase

Summary: Hanako, an athletically proficient, yet thick-headed student with a weird fashion sense, plays a game with the American transfer student Olivia. However, their vigor irritated their classmate Kasumi who dislikes playing games since she has always been teased by her sister for being bad at them. With a turn of events, it was found out that Kasumi is terrible at English. Thus, she asked her foreign classmate Olivia to help her, but Olivia, who is only born and raised in Japan with foreign parents, can’t actually speak English at all! Watch over these three girls’ surreal school-life comedy. (Source: MAL News)

My thoughts: Asobi Asobase is an anime based on a manga series written, and illustrated by Rin Suzukawa. With a total of 12 awesome episode you are in for a lot of gut busting laughing! When I first heard about Asobi Asobase I wasn’t going to give it a chance. This anime didn’t seem like it would be interesting at all, and the opening to Asobi is very misleading! I am beyond happy that I pushed pass the misleading opening to the anime, and gave this anime a chance. A comical masterpiece in my eyes.

The plot focuses on three high school girls named Ksumi, Hanako, and Olivia as they all meet up after school for the club they created. This club is known as the Pastimer Club. Hanako who loves to play games is hyperactive, and impulsive type of person. Olivia who pretends to be an American with broken Japanese is the mischievous one in the group. Finally, there is Kasumi the studious anti-social don’t fuck with me kind of girl who doesn’t like to play games. With these three girls you get the perfect formula for one hell of anime series. The humor is absolutely absurd, but in a very good way! They took a risk with this anime, and it was a good risk to take.

Chio School Road

Summary: This is a story of a nerdy bookworm girl on her way to school, and yes, that’s the entire premise, as she’s not getting to school any time soon. Taking her “usual” route to school, it becomes an increasingly unusual adventure, and all the more ridiculous as it carries on. It takes an unpleasant sentiment many can empathize with, the feeling of tardiness, and brings humor to it—making it a hilarious situation to look back upon.(Source: seventhstyle)

My thoughts: When I heard Chio Chan was getting an anime adaptation I couldn’t contain my excitement for I knew the world was in for a treat. Chio School Road was originally a Japanese manga series written, and illustrated by Tadataka Kawasaki.  From the very first episode I was cheesing like a fool. Watching Chio brought me so much joy. This is one of the few summer anime’s I honestly look forward to every new episode with excitement. The plot was very silly, the characters were fun, and the animation was very well done. Chio School Road came fully loaded!

The story follows Chio our main girl in the series who is an avid gamer ( lots of gaming reference in the series). Chio goes on numerous of crazy adventures as she make’s her way to school. Some of these adventures are joined by her friends Manana, and Yuki! Chio School Road is yet another comical masterpiece as we watch madness unfold before our eyes. From forbidden romances to hilarious innuendos you will surely end each episode with a good laugh or two. If you are looking for an anime series with an in-depth plot … turn away now.  Chio School Road plot is full of surprises that aren’t meant to be taken seriously.

Binge watching madness!

Happy Sugar Life

Summary: This is a shivering pure love psycho horror story of a girl named Satou Matsuzaka, who has someone she likes. She experiences a sweet feeling when she sleeps with her, and thought it must be love. Everything will be forgiven as long as she protects this feeling, even if she tricks, commits crimes, steals, or even kills, she thought. (Source: MAL News)

My thoughts: I am super stoked to start watching Happy sugar Life for I am an avid reader of the manga done by Kagisora Tomiyaki. I love a good twisted horror type anime, and I have a good feeling that Happy Sugar Life is going to give me what exactly what I want when it comes to horror. Love can make a person crazy … Literally.

My thoughts:  Adventure, Horror, Psychological, Thriller … this sounds like it is right up my alley. My friend from amino apps has been talking very highly of this anime. She has talk so highly of it that I am pretty hyped to binge watch this series. The trailer sent chills up my spine, and the animation looks like it will be stunning. I will admit I have high hopes for this anime … I hope it doesn’t let me down.

Summer 2018 was filled with a lot of comedy type anime’s, and one weird one that I oddly enjoyed.  However, I need my fill of horror type anime. You can never watch to much horror in my book. Just like you can never have to much yuri in your life. I would have to say overall the anime’s that aired for this summer haven’t disappointed me to much. So far I only dropped two summer anime’s which I think is pretty damn good in my book. On that note my friends … thank you for reading this summer filled blog! Please be sure to comment your top pick summer anime’s in the comment section below.
