This is due to me being indecisive, and not being able to pick one … so why not pick both! Both offer such variety it is hard not to fall in love with both anime, and manga. Ever since I discover anime, and manga my life has changed for the better. Struggling with ADHD, anxiety, and depression, I needed something to help get me back up onto my feet at times. Anime, and manga were the magic I needed in my life.

A little something, something about anime and manga!

There are truly many, and I mean many reasons why I love anime so much. For me I love how anime has such complex plots for the most, and well let’s not forget about the beautiful animation. Most anime’s animation now days leaves me in awe, because they are so well done. Moreover, anime humor, archetypes, and settings are totally different from American cartoons. If you know anything about me … I love things that are different. Anime is so diverse, and just fun to watch on a lazy day, or a long day after work.

I love watching anime’s that were originally manga’s, because it is always so cool to see your favorite characters come to life on screen. Furthermore, learning about each of the characters in a series is so damn exciting. For me I become attach to the characters. What I mean is I feel what they feel if that makes any sense. A good example would be when something sad happens to one of your favorite characters … you feel sad, and a bit hurt as well.

What is also so fantastic about anime is how it can teach you life lessons. Rather is be about family, friends, and even making sacrifices ( Like Fullmetal Alchemist). Anime helped me when I was in a really bad depressive state of mind. I am very thankful for anime being apart of my life, and being able to learn through anime.

Enough about anime … Let’s talk manga!

I told you guys the story about how I first stumbled upon manga when I was 12 in my post called, “Day 2: Anime & Manga 30 day challenge …List Three Favorite Manga’s.” Manga has truly fascinated me the moments I laid eyes on it … I thought it was very intriguing, and different. Manga has a huge world inside of it. What I mean is the possibilities are endless when it comes to reading manga.

Anime is truly wonderful don’t get me wrong, but sometimes you don’t always get the whole story like you do with manga. For instance, with Blue Exorcist it leaves you wondering about what will happen next, however when you read the manga you find out what is happening next in the series. Furthermore, I feel like with manga you use your imagination more than you do with anime, because you are visualizing what is happening in the scenes, and what the characters are doing. Where as an anime it is pretty much done for you.

Yes sometimes it is hard to interpret what is shown by illustration, but I think that is what makes manga so much fun. Let’s not forget about all the manga that doesn’t have an anime … you are missing out on so many good stories by just solely sticking to anime! It is fun to indulge in the realm of imagination rather than your senses. Think about it… you are filling in the colors of each panel in the manga, guessing what the characters voices might sound like, or picturing how certain scenes actually unfold in your mind.  This makes reading manga very exciting, and enjoyable!
