Anime, anime, anime I just can’t get enough anime my dudes. There are so many amazing anime that I don’t even know where to start! The choices are never ending when it comes to picking THREE favorite anime, but after scrambling around in my brain I have made my decision.  I decided I would list out my top three favorite anime which are, Senki Zesshou Symphogear, My Hero Academia, and Violet Evergarden. I was going to say A Certain Scientific Railgun, but I already talk about it in my blog post called Favorite Anime You’ve Watched So Far? .

Tread carefully my friends, because from this point on this blog post will contain spoilers, and I know not everyone is a fan of spoilers. I highly recommend checking out each of the anime’s I have mentioned above before reading this blog.  Let us not forget that plagiarism is a big no no my friends. With that in mind I will be sure to source out any information that did not come from my mouth.

Senki Zesshou Symphogear

Summary: Tsubasa Kazanari and Kanade Amou—the idol duo known as Zwei Wing—use their songs to power ancient weapons known as “symphogears” to combat a deadly alien race called the “Noise.” While the general public is aware of the Noise’s existence, knowledge of the symphogears are kept a secret. When the Noise attack one of Zwei Wing’s concerts, Kanade sacrifices herself to protect a young girl named Hibiki Tachibana, leaving Tsubasa devastated and a fragment of her symphogear embedded within Hibiki.

Two years pass and Hibiki is once again dragged into a Noise attack. While rescuing a young girl who has been left behind during the evacuation, she awakens the power of Kanade’s symphogear lying within her. Although Tsubasa still grieves over the loss of Kanade, both girls must now learn to work together using their powers to defend humanity against the Noise. (Source MAL)

My thoughts: Symphogear aired winter of January 6, 2012 to March 30, 2012 with a total of 13 episodes each. With each episode about 23 minutes long for the first season. Symphogear was produced by Satelight, and Encourage Films. This anime has a total of five fucking awesome season that I just can’t get enough of.  I personally really enjoyed every season … I find it crazy that so many people dislike this anime so much. each season had a pretty interesting plot that kept me pretty hooked. The characters are well designed, and easy to follow, and the animation was pretty awesome… definitely when it comes down to the fight scenes.

The story follows Hibiki, and her friends as they gear up with their Symphogear armor to fight an alien race known as Noise. In order to activate their Symphogear the girls must sing a song that suddenly transform them into this really bad ass armor. Symphogear users use what they call relics, and each relic has a name of its own. For instance, Hibiki relic is known as Gungnir . Hibiki relic was previously owned by Kanade Amou however, she died in the very first episode protecting Hibiki at a Zwei Wing Concert when noise suddenly appear.  It isn’t until years later when Hibiki is put in a difficult situation to protect a small child that she somehow activates Gungnir. The first season basically is Hibiki getting the grasp of Gungnir, making friends with Tsubasa ( Symphogear user), and trying to understand Chris (Symphogear user) as she takes on the Noise.

My Hero Academia

Summary: The appearance of “quirks,” newly discovered super powers, has been steadily increasing over the years, with 80 percent of humanity possessing various abilities from manipulation of elements to shapeshifting. This leaves the remainder of the world completely powerless, and Izuku Midoriya is one such individual.

Since he was a child, the ambitious middle schooler has wanted nothing more than to be a hero. Izuku’s unfair fate leaves him admiring heroes and taking notes on them whenever he can. But it seems that his persistence has borne some fruit: Izuku meets the number one hero and his personal idol, All Might. All Might’s quirk is a unique ability that can be inherited, and he has chosen Izuku to be his successor!

Enduring many months of grueling training, Izuku enrolls in UA High, a prestigious high school famous for its excellent hero training program, and this year’s freshmen look especially promising. With his bizarre but talented classmates and the looming threat of a villainous organization, Izuku will soon learn what it really means to be a hero. (Source MAL)

My thoughts: My Hero Academia, or Boku no Hero Academia air spring of April 3, 2016 to June 26, 2016 with a total of 13 episodes the first season, that last about 24 minutes each. My Hero Academia was produced by studio Bones who are known for big anime’s like Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater, Noragami, Darker than Black, and many other fantastic anime’s.  I am honestly someone who doesn’t watch to many mainstream anime’s. If I do watch a mainstream anime it is usually when it is already 5 season in. My Hero Academia was not one of those anime’s … it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with this magical anime.

Meet Izuku Midoriya a bright middle school boy, but also super introverted boy who is quirkless meaning he has no super powers. In Izuku world majority of the population has what they call a quirk ( super power). If you don’t have a quirk you are considered quirkless. This story follows Izuku Midoriya, and how he became the greatest hero ever, but first we will watch Izuku struggle, and fight with everything he got to achieve this goal … which is becoming the greatest hero ever. The first season basically is Izuku meeting All Might, and obtaining All Might Quirk … One for all. The second season basically covers  U.A. Sports Festival Arc, the Vs. Hero Killer Arc, and the Final Exams Arc which goes into the third season. The third season which is still ongoing covers the following, The Forest Training Camp Arc, Hideout Raid Arc, Provisional Hero License Exam Arc and the beginning of the Internship Arc. Let me tell you my friends MHA does not lack at all … it is fun, exciting, and overall amazing.

Violet Evergarden

Summary: The Great War finally came to an end after four long years of conflict; fractured in two, the continent of Telesis slowly began to flourish once again. Caught up in the bloodshed was Violet Evergarden, a young girl raised for the sole purpose of decimating enemy lines. Hospitalized and maimed in a bloody skirmish during the War’s final leg, she was left with only words from the person she held dearest, but with no understanding of their meaning.

Recovering from her wounds, Violet starts a new life working at CH Postal Services after a falling out with her new intended guardian family. There, she witnesses by pure chance the work of an “Auto Memory Doll,” amanuenses that transcribe people’s thoughts and feelings into words on paper. Moved by the notion, Violet begins work as an Auto Memory Doll, a trade that will take her on an adventure, one that will reshape the lives of her clients and hopefully lead to self-discovery. “I want to know what “I love you” means…” – Violet Evergarden

Violet Evergarden aired winter of  January 11, 2018 to April 5, 2018 with a total of 13 beautiful episodes that lasted about 23 minutes each. Violet Evergarden was produced by Kyoto Animation who has produced amazing anime’s like Clannad, Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, Koe no Katachi, K-On, and many more fabulous anime’s. This was probably one of the most beautifully written anime’s I have ever watched. I can tell you right now there is nothing that I did not like about this anime, because I loved it so much.

Violet Evergarden isn’t just the anime name, but the main character name as well. The story depicts our main lady Violet who was once apart of the Great War! All violet knew was war, because she was trained to be a skilled killer for the war. However, one man didn’t see young violet as a war tool, but as an ordinary young girl. The story takes place after the war has ended, and we find Violet at CH Postal Services. Her original job was to sort letters, but she wasn’t having that … she wanted to write letters like the rest of the Auto Memory Dolls.  Violet wanted to write letters so she could come to understand what the words “I love You” means … In this series we watch Violet slowly grow from a war tool to a person. I can’t express to you guys how truly beautiful this anime was … seriously it was breathtaking.
