These anime’s I am going to mention are great for people who are just starting discover the lovely world of anime.
Let’s venture into the world of Netflix Anime’s shall we!
Summary: Edward Elric, a young, brilliant alchemist, has lost much in his twelve-year life: when he and his brother Alphonse try to resurrect their dead mother through the forbidden act of human transmutation, Edward loses his brother as well as two of his limbs. With his supreme alchemy skills, Edward binds Alphonse’s soul to a large suit of armor. A year later, Edward, now promoted to the Fullmetal Alchemist of the state, embarks on a journey with his younger brother to obtain the Philosopher’s Stone. The fabled mythical object is rumored to be capable of amplifying an alchemist’s abilities by leaps and bounds, thus allowing them to override the fundamental law of alchemy: to gain something, an alchemist must sacrifice something of equal value. Edward hopes to draw into the military’s resources to find the fabled stone and restore his and Alphonse’s bodies to normal. However, the Elric brothers soon discover that there is more to the legendary stone than meets the eye, as they are led to the epicenter of a far darker battle than they could have ever imagined. Fullmetal Alchemist air fall of October 4, 2003 to October 2, 2004, with a whopping total of 51 episodes each about 24 minutes long. Fullmetal Alchemist is essentially a stepping stone to many people who are just starting out watching anime. “Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy’s first law of equivalent exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world’s one and only truth.” words from the Alphonse Elric when the anime first opens up. Keep those words in mind while you watch this anime! Two brothers learn the hard truth about alchemy when they try to do forbidden alchemy to bring back their dead mother at a young age. In this process Edward looses his arm, and leg while Alphonse looses his body, and is now stuck in a metal armor suite. The plot basically focuses on the boys trying to get back what is theirs after they loose it. They join the country’s militia which is the state alchemist division to search for the philosopher stone that could turn the boys back to there original form. The story line is very thick, and intense in my opinion … so many amazing plot twist that will have you pushing onward to the next episode without even thinking twice about it.
If you are looking for an anime with a big cast … Fullmetal Alchemist is the anime for you my friend. The cast in this series is absolutely large … I could make an entire new blog just on the characters in Fullmetal lol. Edward comes off to be immature, very stubborn, and strong willed. Edward often lets stupid things get the best of him. You will find that it is his younger brother Al who often talks commonsense into Edward however, it doesn’t always work. Even though Edward has many cringe personality traits … he does show great compassion due to his dark past. Al aka Alphonse is rather calm, and passive compare to his older brother. You will notice that Al is very compassionate with a lot of damn patience … even shows this side of himself to his enemies. Al, and Edward are basically polar opposites if you ask me, but even though the two may butt heads at times they make an amazing team.
Summary: Death City is home to the famous Death Weapon Meister Academy, a technical academy headed by the Shinigami—Lord Death himself. Its mission: to raise “Death Scythes” for the Shinigami to wield against the many evils of their fantastical world. These Death Scythes, however, are not made from physical weapons; rather, they are born from human hybrids who have the ability to transform their bodies into Demon Weapons, and only after they have consumed the souls of 99 evil beings and one witch’s soul. Soul Eater Evans, a Demon Scythe who only seems to care about what’s cool, aims to become a Death Scythe with the help of his straight-laced wielder, or meister, Maka Albarn. The contrasting duo work and study alongside the hot headed Black☆Star and his caring weapon Tsubaki, as well as the Shinigami’s own son, Death the Kid, an obsessive-compulsive dual wielder of twin pistols Patty and Liz. Soul Eater follows these students of Shibusen as they take on missions to collect souls and protect the city from the world’s threats while working together under the snickering sun to become sounder in mind, body, and soul. Soul Eater aired during the spring of April 7, 2008 to March 30, 2009 with a total of 51 amazing episodes. Each episodes lasted about 24 minutes long! Looking for a stylish anime? Well my friend you have stumbled upon the right anime. The vibe this anime gives off is just cool, and stylish with some kick ass kids trying to kick the bad guy booty. Soul Eater main focus is a group of students who go to school to be aspiring demon hunters. The story follows Maka who is a scythe wielder, and her partner Soul, he transforms into the scythe she uses. In this anime every wielder is paired with someone who can turn into a weapon of some sort. Pretty interesting so far hey? Well it gets better! The students of Death city along with their teachers fight various demons, and witches who are trying everything they can to destroy Shibusen, just so they can simply take over the world (Insert evil laughter). what I love most about this anime is how cartoony it is … definitely the fight scenes, but the fight scenes are still very well animated, and fun to watch. To me that is a win win when they are able to produce an anime that captivates its audiences, because of the animation.
Teens will be teens .. I think the creators of Soul Eater did a splendid job with this characters. Why you ask? They really went above and beyond with making the characters feel like real life teenagers to an extent. Maka, one of the main characters in this series is bright, cheerful, direct, confident, smart, and hardworking compared to her partner in crime Soul who gives off a laid back vibe. Soul tends to act on impulse, and compare to Maka he isn’t the most patience individual. Though Soul may start off impulsive, and impatience he does mature throughout the anime as it progresses. instead of acting on impulse soul becomes more cool-headed, and calm when a serious matter is at hand. Going back to Maka … just like any teenage girl, or just simply human Maka does have her flaws. Soul has called Maka out for her stubborn, and gloomy ways. One of the biggest negative traits I don’t care for about Maka is how she views males so negatively . I am guessing this is due to her farther cheating on her mom.
One Punch Man
The seemingly ordinary and unimpressive Saitama has a rather unique hobby: being a hero. In order to pursue his childhood dream, he trained relentlessly for three years—and lost all of his hair in the process. Now, Saitama is incredibly powerful, so much so that no enemy is able to defeat him in battle. In fact, all it takes to defeat evildoers with just one punch has led to an unexpected problem—he is no longer able to enjoy the thrill of battling and has become quite bored. This all changes with the arrival of Genos, a 19-year-old cyborg, who wishes to be Saitama’s disciple after seeing what he is capable of. Genos proposes that the two join the Hero Association in order to become certified heroes that will be recognized for their positive contributions to society, and Saitama, shocked that no one knows who he is, quickly agrees. And thus begins the story of One Punch Man, an action-comedy that follows an eccentric individual who longs to fight strong enemies that can hopefully give him the excitement he once felt and just maybe, he’ll become popular in the process. One Punch Man aired Fall of October 5, 2015 to December 21, 2015 with only 12 episodes each about 24 minutes long. I really loved the shit out of the anime lmao … I would be lying if I said I didn’t binge watch the entire first season, because I totally binge watch the hell out of it in one day lol. The story basically evolves around Saitama who was once an ordinary man, but had a dream to be a hero. Saitama definitely achieves his goal of becoming a hero without a doubt. However, our hero may be a little to strong! How is that even possible you may be wondering. well with a lot of strenuous training lol Saitama becomes so strong he is able to take out anyone, or anything with a single punch. This comical action anime will surely put you in a good mood as you watch the oh so hero One Punch Man beat up bad guys.
The characters in this anime are just simply fun to watch. For example, Saitama who is rather laid back, and indifferent doesn’t take his hero work very seriously. This is due to the fact that he is to strong, causing him to get bored quite easily, because he doesn’t have an opponent that can actually provide him with a challenge. Then you have Genos who is Saitama apprentice. Unlike Saitama, Genos is very serious which makes for a good comedy act between the two heroes. Genos is constantly striving to become a stronger, and better hero. Honestly , I feel each of the characters you meet in this series will make some kind of impact on you. Most anime’s fail when it comes to having all the characters leave an impression, but in my opinion I think One Punch Man characters left a huge impression on me. It is probably the reason why I enjoyed the anime so much.
